Terms of Purchase
Confirming Your Order
We offer the option to place an order for a custom-made table that may not be listed on our website. In such cases, we will request a deposit. Upon confirming your order, we kindly ask for a 40% deposit payment based on the sales invoice. If any alternative payment terms are agreed upon for special orders, they will be clearly mentioned on the sales invoice. As we construct each order according to the unique specifications of our customers, manufacturing does not commence until the agreed payment has been received. Regardless of the agreed-upon terms, full payment is required prior to delivery.
Order Details
Ensuring your order meets or surpasses your expectations is our utmost priority. Throughout the sales process, we engage in multiple emails and conversations to establish a mutually agreed-upon specification. To ensure a seamless transition from the sales process to the production process, it is vital that any and all notes pertaining to specific details that are important to you are clearly stated on the sales invoice.
In the absence of any special notes on the sales invoice, your product(s) will be manufactured in accordance with our standard specifications, as outlined below.
30 Day Guarantee
All our products are accompanied by a 30-day Guarantee, which exceeds the requirements outlined in the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, specifically for Bespoke Products.
In the event that you receive a product with aesthetic damage or structural faults, we will undertake the necessary repairs and return it to you. If the damage cannot be resolved using standard production methods employed in creating a brand new product, we will replace the affected part or component.
Our sales process, in addition to the extensive collection of photos and detailed descriptions available on our website, aims to provide an accurate representation of how your natural furniture may appear. It's important to note that timber's visual characteristics encompass a wide spectrum, and we make every effort to closely adhere to your specifications, as stated on the sales invoice, to the best of our ability.
However, due to the unpredictable nature of natural timber, it's possible that a like-for-like replacement may not guarantee avoidance of the same aesthetic issue. In such cases, a change in specifications may be required to meet your requirements.
The inherent variability of natural timber products includes factors such as the frequency and size of knots and cracks (in line with timber grading), colour consistency among different sections of the tabletop, as well as the curvature, angle, and hues of a live edge.
If you have any concerns or specific needs related to these natural variations in the timber of your table, or regarding the production process described below, please ensure that your requirements are clearly stated on the sales invoice. Alternatively, feel free to contact us before confirming your order so that we can adequately address your needs and establish accurate expectations.
Lead Time
We will provide you with a target delivery month at the time of order. This is an estimated lead time based on payment being received within 48 hours of the invoice date, plus current known lead times on all materials and parts at the time of order.
The order lead time is also based on full and complete product specification. Items that are critical to lead time include dimensions, configuration (number of pieces), edge style, material type, colour. Once the final critical details are confirmed, the order lead time starts from that date.
Timber colours should be confirmed within 2 weeks of the order being confirmed to prevent any affect on lead time.
Please note – we are unable to provide full or partial refunds or compensation for delayed deliveries, but this is an extremely unlikely occurrence.
LP Design Warranty
Due to the natural characteristics of timber, it is common for natural wood movement to occur as the material adjusts to its surrounding environment. We take various measures throughout the design process, material sourcing, material preparation, and production procedures to minimize the likelihood of any noticeable issues arising for our customers.
However, as it is impossible to completely eliminate the risk of natural wood movement in any environment, we provide a Wood Movement Warranty with our tables to ensure your peace of mind.
Wood movement typically takes place when there are changes in the surrounding environment. The timber begins to acclimate from the moment it is harvested and continues to adapt throughout the seasoning and production processes until it has been in your home for a full 12 months. During this period, the timber experiences varying temperatures, humidity levels, and exposure to sunlight, which are representative of the conditions it will encounter in your home environment.
Within the first 12 months, you may observe temporary changes in the timber, such as cracks opening and closing, as the wood expands and contracts. Once the initial 12-month period has passed and the timber has settled, if you encounter any noticeable or practical issues attributable to wood movement, please reach out to us with accompanying photos for our assessment.
Duration of Warranty Cover
You have a window of up to 14 months from the date of receiving your order to inform us about any wood movement issues that you would like us to address. After 14 months, any refurbishment work we undertake will be quoted based on our current labour and material rates.
It is important to note that the likelihood of wood movement decreases significantly after the initial 12 months in your home. Therefore, we strongly recommend waiting for at least 12 months before considering any refurbishment work, as any further movement occurring after the warranty service will not be covered.
The duration of refurbishment work, from collection to re-delivery, can range from 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the specific requirements of the work.
Please be aware that the warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, staining or marking, refinishing, accidental damage, or any changes in the timber's appearance that are unrelated to wood movement. However, we are available to assist you with any of these issues, so please don't hesitate to reach out to us with accompanying photos for a quotation.
If you have any inquiries or need to discuss warranty-related matters, please feel free to contact our customer service team at,

Non-UK Orders
For orders placed outside of mainland UK, we extend our warranty coverage to any address within mainland UK. This implies that you are responsible for arranging the transportation of the table to and from the UK mainland, while we will handle any necessary collection, remedial work, or re-delivery within the UK mainland.
Cancellations
If an order is cancelled after the production process has started, depending on the stage of production, LP Design reserves the right to retain up to 50% of the order value.
Postponements
If you need to postpone delivery of your order, please let us know as soon as possible.
If materials have been ordered but production is not underway, we can store your materials until you confirm when you will be ready and there will be no charge for storage. Once you confirm your “ready from” date, please allow 8-12 weeks for us to make and deliver your order.
If production is complete but you are unable to accept delivery of an order, we will store your completed order until you are ready for delivery and there will be no charge for storage. If production is already underway when you postpone your delivery then it will usually need to be completed to avoid additional production costs.
It’s important that you are aware of the potential affects of storing completed products; Natural timber tops are subject to movement and shrinkage as they acclimatise to their surroundings (see more on this below). Our table legs and bases are designed to mitigate and minimise the effects of wood movement when the top is fastened down to its legs / base in your home.
However, we do not have the facility to store tables fully assembled. So completed solid wood tops in storage are more susceptible to a greater degree of wood movement than fully assembled tables.
If your stored top(s) does experience movement whilst in storage (such as shrinkage, twisting or cracking) , we can carry out a refurbishment of your woodwork before delivering your order. Please be aware that this refurbishment will utilise the one-time warranty refurbishment that comes with each table.
Refurbishment work can result in some material loss / dimension reduction. If the degree of material loss, due to excessive movement in storage, is unacceptable to you then LP Design will provide a quotation to cover the cost of replacing any necessary material to achieve your minimum required dimensions.
Please allow 4-6 weeks for any refurbishment work to be completed before your delivery.
By purchasing a table from LP Design, you accept these terms and conditions of the sale agreement. If you would like any further info about any of these terms and conditions before purchasing please contact us at info@lpdesign.uk
